Description
Sweet with heat! The smoky heat of the chipotle peppers mixed with the sweetness of maple syrup makes these wings irresistible.
Ingredients
**All Ingredients**
- 2-3 pounds of chicken wings
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 teaspoons canned chipotle chilies, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat pellet grill to 350 °F.
Step 2: Cook your chicken wings in your pellet smoker at 350 °F until they reach an internal temperature of 145 °F.
Step 3: While wings are cooking, make the sauce. In a small saucepan, over medium heat, bring first 5 ingredients to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the liquid is reduced to 3/4 cup, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. Prepare a Dutch oven with oil for frying. Heat oil to 350 °F.
Step 4: Remove chicken from the smoker and put it in your fry basket. Fry chicken until they reach an internal temperature of 165 °F.
Step 5: Place wings on a paper towel-lined baking sheet and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
Step 6: Toss wings with sauce until completely covered.
